Owner & Enrolled Agent | Hockett Tax
Jeff Hockett has been helping individuals and businesses navigate taxes since 1991. An Enrolled Agent since 2019, he represents taxpayers before the IRS and brings more than 30 years of experience to helping clients understand their options and move forward with confidence.
His experience spans individual and business tax preparation, IRS audits, collections, Offers in Compromise, and other complex tax matters. With an extensive background in real estate and property management, Jeff also understands the practical challenges facing business owners, real estate professionals, investors, and landlords.
Jeff believes great tax service starts with understanding the person behind the numbers. He takes time to learn about each client’s goals, explain options in plain language, and identify opportunities to make informed tax and business decisions. His approach combines personal attention, practical guidance, and hands-on problem solving throughout the year.
Beyond his client work, Jeff has served in leadership and committee roles within real estate and professional organizations. That commitment to service, along with his tax experience and business perspective, shapes the way he leads Hockett Tax today.
Co-Owner | Hockett Tax
Justin joined Hockett Tax in 2015 and now works alongside his dad, Jeff, as a co-owner of the family business. His role includes preparing personal tax returns, bookkeeping, and helping manage the administrative side of the firm. He is a Certified Bookkeeper, a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers, and is currently studying for his Enrolled Agent credential.
On the bookkeeping side, Justin works with clients to keep their records organized by categorizing transactions and reconciling accounts. His approach is straightforward and detail-oriented, with an emphasis on keeping accurate books and making the tax preparation process easier when filing time comes around.
Before joining Hockett Tax, Justin worked in hospitality, including as a front desk manager at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. That experience taught him the importance of taking care of people, communicating clearly, and paying attention to the details. Those are things he still brings to his work with clients today.
Working alongside his dad has also meant learning directly from more than 30 years of tax experience. As the father-son team grows the business, Justin is helping carry Hockett Tax into its next chapter without losing the thing clients stay for: the same two people, who know your file and answer the phone.
Jeff wrote a book on taxes for small business owners, available on Amazon, and the firm publishes a podcast on the kinds of questions clients bring in. Our IRS resolution work — back taxes, payment plans, offers in compromise — runs through a separate practice, Fix IRS Issues.
